Bridges Replacement

Five existing overhead bridges along the project corridor were replaced in advance to accommodate the future widening of the Turnpike from four to six lanes: Fretz Road, Harleysville Pike/Route 113, Morwood Road, Ridge Road/Route 563, and Clump Road.

Fretz Road Bridge

Construction on the Fretz Road bridge began in the spring of 2013 and was completed and opened to traffic on November 11, 2013.

Ridge Road / Route 563 Bridge

The Ridge Road/Route 563 bridge replacement construction began in March 2014 and was completed on October 24, 2014.

Morwood Road & Clump Road Bridges

The Morwood Road and Clump Road bridges were built under the same contract beginning in the spring of 2015. Both bridges were open to traffic on November 13, 2015.

Harleysville Pike Bridge

Construction on the Harleysville Pike bridge began in the spring of 2016 and was completed and opened to traffic in the spring of 2018.
