On Thursday, April 11, 2013 the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission held a preliminary open house plans display for the Northeastern Extension Total Reconstruction and Widening Project from milepost A31 (Fretz Road) to A38 (Clump Road). The purpose of the plans display was to present the preliminary design including the project schedule, bridge replacement detour routes, sound barrier locations, stormwater management/environmental facilities and right-of-way impacts. Other information available at the open house included typical roadway cross sections, traffic noise analysis, right-of-way information, and public outreach materials including opportunities to complete comment forms and sign ups to receive future project information. Project Team members were on hand to discuss the project details and answer any questions. The open house plans display was held in the cafeteria of Souderton Area High School in Souderton, PA.
