Turnpike Milepost A31-A38 Project

Sound Barrier Meeting

Meeting Information

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) held a meeting for property owners adjacent to a proposed sound barrier on the Northeastern Extension total reconstruction and widening project (Milepost A31 to Milepost A38). The meeting took place on Thursday, June 23rd, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Souderton Area High School. The purpose of this meeting was to give property owners adjacent to a proposed sound barrier an opportunity to express support for or against the construction of sound barriers, and to provide input on the color and texture of the sound barrier.

After signing-in, attendees were given a color-coded ballot corresponding to their section of the project. A presentation explained the voting process, and informational boards were displayed. Attendees were able to cast votes at the meeting to indicate their preference for color and texture of the sound barrier adjacent to their property. Those unable to attend the meeting were afforded the opportunity to vote through mail or email. Voting concluded on July 15, 2016.
